Swing Gitane, the smokin’ hot 20′s and 30′s dance band, and fabulous torch singer Susie, will fill the night with electricity, passion, and romance. The fun begins at 9:00 pm and runs until 1:00 am. Beer and wine will be available for purchase at the dance, and there is a $10.00 cover charge at the door. This is undoubtedly the best New Year’s Eve deal around here–and of course sumptuous gourmet dining will be available by reservation at the Columbia City Hotel before the dance party begins. This year we are offering a sumptuous family Thanksgiving dinner at the Columbia City Hotel. Here’s the festive holiday menu:

First Course Choices:
Roasted Acorn Squash Soup with bacon and leek cracklings, or Pear, Endive & Roquefort Salad; or Butter Leaf Lettuce, Chanterelle Mushrooms & Prosciutto Crisps with City Hotel French dressing.

Entrée Choices:
Oven Roasted Turkey with chestnut and bacon stuffing, buttermilk chive mashed potatoes, oven roasted yams & seasonal vegetables; or “Lockford” Apple Smoked Ham with a bourbon & molasses glaze, buttermilk chive mashed potatoes, oven roasted yams & seasonal vegetables, or Roasted Angus Standing Rib Roast with caramelized shallots in a madera reduction, oven roasted yams & seasonal vegetables.

We invite you and your family to join us for a sumptuous, joyous, and entertaining Victorian Christmas Feast this December 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11. ***Because of popular demand, we are extending our show to include December 17 and 18.*** The stately, tall doors doors of the Columbia City Hotel will open at 6:30 pm for a delightful upstairs parlor reception filled with music and champagne—the dinner show starts at 7:00, and runs until—whenever!

At this year’s Feast, we are delivering a sleigh load of music, singing, and caroling. Happy sounds of Christmas will be served up with generous helpings of improvisational fun, wit, humor, and a wagon load of laughter and festive, holiday good cheer.

This next summer season we will once again feature our popular and entertaining Gold Rush storytelling at 6:00 pm, on selected weekends, with the famed author and speaker Bret Harte. Mr. Harte entertains guests with his stories of the California Gold Rush, including American classics such as The Luck of Roaring Camp, The Outcast of Polker Flat, and Barker’s Luck. Bret will be joined by Mark Twain, and together, they will delight you with stories of their adventures out West and the beginning of American Literature. This is a performance you will not want to miss! These two Gold Rush scallywags of American literature together in one show–it’s pure whiskey and gunpowder! Week Nights are Special at the What Cheer Saloon

Every Tuesday evening we are inviting you to experience the best dang Tacos on the western slope of the Sierra Nevada at the City Hotel What Cheer Saloon! The best part is that EACH Taco only cost ONE DOLLAR!  The beer is the coldest in Tuolumne County, and you can get a brew so delicious, it will take you a half an hour to drink it.

And if you like fish and chips prepared the Gold Rush way, don’t miss our Fish Friday faire for only $8.99, including a bodacious stack of home made fries. Mark Twain regales you with stories about his Life and Times on the Mississsippi as a riverboat pilot, his adventures out West on the Comstock Lode and prospecting for local folklore right here in the Mother Lode. He might even have a few things to say about current events from his point of view. Mr. Twain is widely known for his great ability to tell “stretchers”, and his delightful wit and wisdom is sure to not disappoint.
