Mark Twain shows are back in town! Starting Saturday, May 12 & 19 at 6:00 pm, the Columbia City Hotel in Columbia State Park is kicking off another season of history and fun with their popular Mark Twain dinner theatre shows. The May 12 show will feature Mr. Mark Twain himself, and we will be serving our regular dinner menue, with a free show thrown in for fun. The May 19 show will feature Mark Twain teaming up with the fabulous Dave Rainwater, Gold Country Minstrel and fiddle player extaordinaire. The total dinner show cost for this performance is $45.00, and included in that price is a sumptuous three course dinner. Folks, these are two shows you won’t want to miss. Anyway, let’s face it, there’s a lot to celebrate–the Mother Lode Roundup, the Sonora Amgen Tour bicycle race, and the Calaveras County Frog Jump Jubilee. These two Mark Twain shows kick off another season of skallywag mayhem and wagon loads of fun at the City Hotel and What Cheer Saloon. Other famous Wild West characters will be joining Mr. Twain throughout the summer and fall season–so keep your ear to the rail for posted upcoming events.

This next summer season we will once again feature our popular and entertaining Gold Rush storytelling at 6:00 pm, on selected weekends, with the famed author and speaker Bret Harte. Mr. Harte entertains guests with his stories of the California Gold Rush, including American classics such as The Luck of Roaring Camp, The Outcast of Polker Flat, and Barker’s Luck.
